If you have multiple video or audio files in your playlist, you can just press N button for the next track or P to play the previous media in the list. If you want to watch your video in fast or slow motion mode, you can press the minus (-) key to slow your video playback speed and the plus sign (+) to increase it. You can check the video time in full screen mode, by pressing "T" button and all the information will be in the upper right corner of the screen. If you want to check the elapsed time and remaining time of your video, you don't need to check the search bar every time. You can do this by simply pressing the "F" key and it will allow you to switch between full screen and windowed modes. ![]() If you select a file to play, you don't need to use the mouse and double-click the screen each time to switch to full screen. You want to mute video or audio all of a sudden, just press M button on your keyboard, and you can press it again to turn your video audio back on. This is probably the simplest and sometimes the most useful shortcut. If you want to adjust audio or video effects like equalizer, contrast when playing video or listening song on VLC, you can do it by just pressing Ctrl key with "E And the Audio / Video Effects window is displayed. If your laptop also has quick volume buttons, you can use them to control your PC volume. Just press the Ctrl key with the up arrow to increase the volume and the Ctrl key with the down arrow to decrease it. You can increase or decrease the volume of any video using the shortcuts as well. 6.CTRL + Up / down arrow for volume control If you want more than that, you will have to use the search bar for it. To do this, combine the ALT and CTRL keys and use them with the directional arrows to skip 5 minutes of the video. Moreover, even if one minute is not long enough, you can skip a video for 5 minutes. ![]() 5.CTRL + ALT + left / right arrows for 5 minutes Just use the CTRL key instead of the Alt key next to the arrows to skip the video for 1 min. If jumping for just 10 seconds is not enough for you, you can also jump one minute video on VLC. 4.CTRL + Left / Right Arrow to skip 1 min To do this, you can simply press the ALT button with the left or right arrow keys (right to go forward, left to rewind) to skip 10 seconds of the video. Sometimes we want to skip a few seconds on the video and sometimes we even want to go back when we miss something. 3.ALT + Left / Right Arrow for Fast / Slow And, you will exit full screen video mode and VLC will return to window mode as well. If you want to stop the video due to some other urgent work on your PC, you can stop the video immediately by pressing S button.
